Different kind of waste management process

What are the different types of waste management?

The waste management process deals with all the activities necessary to reduce waste from its inception to its final disposal. There are different kinds of waste, such as solid, liquid, animal, etc. One of the main effects of solid waste management is that it reduces the harmful impact of these elements on the environment. Some of the popular ways of solid waste management include

  • Recycling
  • Incineration
  • Landfill
  • Animal Feed
  • Biological Reprocessing

Recycling

Recycling is a great way to protect the environment. In this method, the waste items which can be recycled are collected separately and used for other purposes. Recycling reduces the amount of waste that is being disposed of. In many places, separate waste bins are present with the label “recyclable” so that people dispose of similar kinds of items separately. Many companies also mention whether their products are recyclable on the packaging or the product itself.

Landfill

This method includes collection, transportation, disposal and burying waste items in different places. These places can be barren lands or empty grounds. Initially, the waste items are collected from trash bins and transported to required locations, which in this case can be a wasteland. Then, these are buried in the ground. This is one of the popular kinds of waste management. But, there is a risk of land pollution from this, which can also be detrimental to the health and well-being of surrounding communities.

Incineration

In this method of waste management, the waste items are burned. This method is also known as the thermal treatment of waste. Countries with limited land use this method to get rid of waste. The process is identical here. The wastes are collected from outdoor trash cans and burned. Many cities burn waste materials to produce energy or heat. But, one main drawback is that burning waste materials can cause air pollution, so it must be done in a limited quantity.

Biological Reprocessing

Chemical waste materials, including paper goods and kitchen waste, can be reused following the process thanks to biological reprocessing, a common strategy among the various types of waste management. Different physiological systems, including recycling and biomass gasification, are used in biological reprocessing. In regulated environments, writing occurs naturally as biological activity. Natural gas is one of the stock's endpoints, producing heat and electricity. Commonly, biological reprocessing is used to get rid of industrial waste.

Animal Feed

Food waste is a severe issue in this world currently. However, providing wasted food items to the animals can significantly reduce waste while also being thrifty. Manu households and farms collect their wastes in separate trash bins and feed the animals. But, it is necessary to ensure that the waste given to the animals is suitable for their health and does not include any dangerous items like glass or cloth.
